Spin Instructor

Luke Astell is one of our Spinning instructors and has been an avid cyclist for over 27 years. He has 18 years experience as a Physical Therapist and is a partner at Mt Stuart PT. He is an expert bike fitter is certified by The Fit Institute Slow Twitch in triathlon bike position. His hobbies include Ironman triathlon, trail running, climbing, and hiking with family.

PT/Flow Motion instructor

Nancy Bywater teaches the Flow Motion class. She has been a Physical Therapist for 25 years. She is student of movement, both academically and in action. Her class is designed to combine mobility, strength and coordination, integrating years of experience and knowledge in teaching people to move well. Motivated by a love of outdoor activities, and movement, her class is designed to keep our bodies working optimally for the long haul. Personally, she is an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying skiing, running, hiking, biking, and anything outdoors. Her goal is to keep up with her kids as they get older and to be skiing at age 90!

Personal Trainer & Class Instructor

Liz graduated from Central Washington University with a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in French. During her college career, she worked in a plyometrics training program while competing in track and field for the University. As a certified ASCM and AFAA Personal Trainer, she specializes in sport specific athletic training, special populations, core stability, and weight loss management. An avid climber, cyclist, hiker, and snowboarder, Liz loves outdoor activities and the ability to share those interests with others. Her goal is to continue promoting health education that offers improvement in overall quality of life to both herself and to the community.

Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor

David is a wilderness guide turned calisthenics athlete. Washington born and raised, he has been a PNW sports enthusiast and avid explorer since he can remember. After returning to the country after living in Guatemala for some time, he has come to call Leavenworth home. You can recognize him by his crazy hair, big smile and the reggaeton music playing in the gym.

PT Aide/BPHF Manager

James moved to the beautiful Wenatchee valley after finishing his PhD at the University of Arizona in 2020. In 2010 James completed his BS in Exercise Science and ran the Boston Marathon which began a life of interest in human activity. Thereafter, James studied the evolution of human activity focusing on long-distance running. Outside of physical activity James loves books, chess, and thinking. On the weekends you will find him running on one of the many local trails or completing a few rounds of disc golf.

My journey has taken me from working as a cook, a banker, a tutor to where I am now, a student at Central Washington University and member of the staff at MSPT/ BPHF. I returned to college after an eight year break, to go into the brewing industry. I quickly realized, I value my health over making beer. Luckily, the majority of classes I had already taken served to fulfill a high school dream, to work in the Physical Therapy world. I will graduate with a BS in Clinical Physiology and a minor in Physical Rehabilitation. From there I intend to apply to PTA programs with the ultimate goal of working in the PNW. I've currently gotten into hiking and taking photos. When I'm not getting lost in a forest, I like to spend time with my family playing Catan and drinking lots of coffee.
